Dental coverages and dental claims question

Monday, Oct. 18th 2010 9:46 AM

When getting dental insurance how are the claims filed?  I do not have a dentist yet but I am looking for a dental  insurance where I only have to pay my part of the cost at the time of services.

My fried has good dental insuance and it pays out well problem is she has to pay in full for the dental services and wait back for her money from the insurance company.  It works okay for her since she can afford to do that.  I however can not afford to pay up front so need a plan that will not make me do that.

Then what you will probably want will be an HMO dental insurance plan. On an HMO cost is schedule out and you only have to pay the schedule price for the dental service listed. Therefore no claim forms for you to worry about

You friend may have a PPO dental insurance where claims are filed. Depending on the dentist is how the claim is filed out.

You may want to look into getting a dental discount plan. Like an HMO insurance plan it also has no claim forms and you only have to pay your discount rate for the dental services render.
